audiojack return to 2020 after a year or so setting up their imprint gruuv. the new single >get serious< shows the duo not only mature as artists but also develop and hone their sound to new house themed productions. the title track is state of the art bounce in a box with a killer vocal hook, >let the rhythm take you<, meandering around sweet insistent stabs. its been smashing terraces, rooftops and discotheques all summer and now its finally available for our select dj friends to carry on the vibes through autumn. >polka dot dress< comes spotted with a sound originally created on the classic korg m1 synth and used by mk to devastating effect in the 90s. audiojack have then sprinkled their magic dust on it and added sweeping detroit techno strings, tight drums and healthy amounts of bottom end rumble. as we look forward it is important to know your roots and audiojack show they know their house history by covering the all time classic by the backroom - definition of a track. no samples at all were used and the guys worked out and replayed all the synth parts before adding new vocals from kevin knapp. by beefing up the original we hope a new generation of djs and clubbers bust out this amazing track. it deserves to be heard again and is produced and primed for todays dancefloors.

the cryovac recordings label is kept alive by the efforts of a. garcia. the name is taken from a dirty and cranky device used to seal shrink wrap around records. in this way, cryovac works to preserve the time and space around its artists identities. who they are is translated into tone and vibration, which is captured onto vinyl by garcia himself. cryovac remains creative and searching to maintain a personal sound. kimyon huggins (metroplex) is a painter, musician, thinker and a lover of life. he pulls together concepts that inspire, and informally applies them to his funky sound. this sound has been crafted from a wondering nature and a deep respect for history. kimyon huggins is one of a few that continually break the mold.

following his dream ep release last year that featured an amazing j.t.c. remix, juanpablo drops us this time another especial production called mother mountain ep that shows clearly how hard he is pushing to create his own beat. last year his song dream was reviewed by some specialized media as hard to describe but easy to love and we think that the mother mountain track on this record will get a similar description. sea people is the second track and for this song juanpablo has invited spanish producer vinz vincenzo to collaborate with him in the production. this artist has been around for a long time and has made a lot of music in many different types that are far away from electronic genres which gives a plus to the end result of this production. and lastly, we have a remix of mother mountain by the mythic spanish producer arcanoid who has released on labels such as tesla, semantica, etc. his remix is pure techno, very hypnotic, dark and mental but always with his personal touch. probably the most club oriented tune on this record.

asiko disko - jt uses classic drum machines, sneaky acid lines and a mike dunn-esqe vocal to create this underground gem.
gaia - this track is sure to be a dj favorite. pounding tribal rhythms, hypnotic chants and an arrangement demanding to stay in the mix. this is a dj weapon.
asiko disko (dave aju remix) - having been a fan of dave aju for a while we thought it would be a hoot to get a remix from him. the result is a slow burning, shimmering remix that takes the original and shoots into space.

mannheim based plastic city has been around for the best part of two decades now, working with some of the most exciting artists in house and techno and maintaining an output of electronic music that is unrivaled. now the label behind artists such as terry lee brown junior and the timewriter is looking towards the release of the debut album from the awesome nikola gala. gala is part of the exciting wave of greek talent that has risen through the ranks of the house and techno scene over the last decade. he is a prolific producer who has released music on some of the hottest label around including rekids, ibadan, his own escada music and of course plastic city.

alice rose, the surprising and inspiring danish musical phenomenon, and one-woman-electroavantgarde-show, has started a new project called tiger rose. after releasing three highly musical dream-pop albums as alice rose, the cologne, germany based avant-garde singer-songwriter has beamed herself onto the planet techno, and shes firmly planted her flag with the tiger rose debut, >food for dreams<. as tiger rose, alice works the four-to-the-floor bass drum with enough space around it to make a cinematic playground for her musical imagination. and when she pours it on, she breaks free of the restrictive corset of regular dance music. on >food for dreams< the techno tracks pop to life, full of depth and groove as well as sparkling lightness. gabriel ananda, her long-time collaborator and friend, had his hands on the mix which makes it even more exciting. with the debut of tiger rose, a new imaginative musician has entered the techno scene with the potential to inspire techno and dance music fans alike. listeners beware: this tiger is going to make you move and groove.

laurent werys clubhit >hey hey hey< has been around for over a year in clubs all over the world. the track gets a refix with the appealing vocals of dev (known from the hit >like a g6< by far east movement).

in recent times it has been fashionable for european producers to try and recreate the classic sounds of detroit. the true vibe and feel can surely only come from the city itself? as his name suggests, whilst we know very little about anonym, we do know that he hails from the legendary motor city, and the true essence of his home town can be heard and felt in his music. classic sounds constructed with a modern touch. gritty, raw and crying out for sweaty basements. in 2011 anonym has finally arrived on vakant and is set to release his first record on the label. his > flivvers vol.1 ep< will be followed by vol.2 later this year.

daphni is the alias of dan snaith, aka caribou, a man who needs no introduction, having conquered the hearts of music lovers around the world with his latest album >swim<. we at amazing sounds are very proud and excited to present a dancefloor centric release from dan following his seismic reworkings of radiohead and virgo four, - >ahora< is a slinky, trippy, eastern tinged piece, with a stunning, tweaked out synth riff that blows apart the uneasy equilibrium. on the remix tip are margot, border community s super gifted italian duo, who deliver an even more wonky take on the original, with pinwheeling oscillations, burbling flutes and subdued piano notes.

while the first release on wania, busen & paleos >stream of love< (featuring dj sotofetts anthemic overdub-12inchedit) was a rather leftfield affair, dritfett is aimed more directly towards the dancefloor. the label artwork gives a clear clue as to what this release is all about: amongst a number of cryptic messages and shout-outs in norwegian - a tr-909 logo. all the tracks here are based around the 909 - thunderous kickdrums and sharp, hissing hi-hats that cut through the mix. still, theres a broad range of sounds, from head-down, fists-clenched warehouse workouts with an industrial edge, to more melodic tracks with detroit references aplenty. make no mistake though: this is all about the power of the almighty 909. theres no fancy tricks here� no ableton-trickery or polished waveforms, just good honest techno with a real raw live feel. this gives the tracks the energy and spontaneity that is sorely missed in many of todays productions. the kind of energy you will find - in abundance - in the house and techno releases of the 90s. the kind of energy that can only be achieved by pressing play on a machine, frenetically twisting knobs and punching buttons while letting the energy of the room decide where to go next.

opening up the first of two wicker & steel remix eps is clr�s tommy four seven, a producer whose own debut album came out to a great response earlier this year. tommy switches start chopping�s 4/4 rhythms for his own broken beat foundation and adds a whole new world of bass to the track. the original�s pads echo around the soundscape as each break brings back a tougher version of the beat.

there are still around, real environmentalists for whom the term preservation means more than just a trend. paul-david rollmann alias even-tuell belongs with his artistic productions (among other things, one of the creators of the enthusiast label workshop) to the class of those who answer the call for effective art, design and indulgence. the maxim is always the free will, emancipated from szperfluous market mechanics and the falsehoods of the zeitgeist. for musik krause, his activity is recorded on 2 releases. a split with metaboman and a formidable remix for ian simmonds adorn the catalog. with his quasi-first complete musik krause ep he shows a raw and coarse club music sound without losing even a breath of the aesthetic and compelled movement. all three pieces sound as if they were crafted from centuries old tools, in the way that his music is filtered through the machines humanizedm discharged in a kind of essential honesty.

rockin tracks that will definitely do their damage again ! they delivered absolutely high class rockin tracks with their first release on afulab 16 outsider ep last year already, but spared no efforts to top it with this monster four track carnival ep.carnival for sure is a peak time monster that leaves no doubt to be bangin� dancefloors around the globe pretty soon and is already working more than well with a very few selected djs. followed by the next great techno tune virus to fulfill the duty with power on the a side. side aa starts off to a bit darker territories with rauco and rounds it up with a nice remix treatment by collaborateur manel diaz!

absolut rework! safras rolls madonna vs timberlake masterpiece. the limited vinyl release has also the misstress barbara remix of mihalis safras released after 1 year of playing it in all famous clubs around the globe.

october and john osborn are proud to present the inaugural 12inch on their newly minted bristol and berlin based house & techno label: tanstaafl records. tanstaafl is an acronym for there aint no such thing as a free lunch. we kick things off with john osborns debut release, epoch 4 backed with a darker, reduced, dub-influenced version. john based in berlin worked with october in his bristol based studio to create and produce some wonderful, raw, dirty analogue house music. both tracks were meticulously produced by herr osborn and recorded and engineered by october. laurie appleblims joined the studio session and he dove straight into the juno 60 and played the melody that finnishes the track off. tough floor business for your feet and mind, tried and tested around the world. a great start for this promising label.

the proposition is a simple one. it was a 2009 when julio bashmore first remixed >heartbreaker< from deadboys classic first release - the >u cheated< ep on well rounded.
he remoulded the garage template of the original into something more immediate, replacing the swung off-beats of the original with driving forward-rhythms and a clarity of purpose that takes absolutely nothing away from the musical impact of the original. this circulated on mp3 and we smiled and danced.
unexpectedly, in 2010 jb returned to >heartbreaker< for a different interpretation. this time around a more haunting approach was the order of the day with cross-fading strings creating a soulful, otherworldly atmosphere. the drop this time also swapped sub bass for punchy 808s. a tantalising further alternative that pointed the way to this vinyl release.

a debut release for both band and label, parisian duo paradis bring two eloquently produced tracks to beats in space in the form of the >parfait tirage / la ballade de jim< 12 inch (bis001). admirers from afar of dj tim sweeneys weekly on air institution of 12 years (from which the label takes its name), paradis submitted demos hoping they might hack it for some play time. reared on classical and jazz, turned young hip hop rebels, turned teen club crawlers, and then university machine tinkerers, simon meny & pierre rousseau grew out of genre jumping while young enough to stay ahead and settle into music making centered around melody and emotion.
